Uluru and Kata Tjuta

 
Of course we also visited the famous Uluru (Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas).
We were told the best time to see Ayers rock would be at sunset (with some wine), when the sun would color the rock beautifully and create a romantic atmosphere. When we got there however it turned out to be one of the few evenings in the year with cloud cover - so much for the special light; we had to drive there - so much for the wine; and there turned out to be hundreds of other people - so much for the romantic atmosphere...
