Kyrah Rori Gieskens
Born: 28-11-2006
Kyrah, pronounced as kee-ra, comes from the Irish name Ceara or Keara, which are linked to a wife of Nemed, one of the legendary early invaders of Ireland; and it is the name of a saint from Kilkenny. Although we didn't know this when we decided on this name, it is also a Greek name, meaning "Lady", a Greek title of respect for a woman.
Rori means red-head. We expected Kyrah to have red hair, because of her mother's red hair, but she turned out to be blonde.
Kyrah turned out to be a lively girl with the green eyes of her mother and the beautiful blonde curly hair of her grandmother (father's side). She has a keen interest in the more artistic activities (paining, glueing, cutting, etc.) and she is very social: the people with whom she plays are much more important than what she is playing with.
